Afterlife
It began with ‘Ghost’ a journey into the psyche and shroud of humankind.
Deep reckonings, stemming from my early church days and rituals and spiritual experiences and vibrations, from the other-side. Prayers and sins and learning scripture and also being as wild as a wolf in the wilderness.
The weightless bird has teachings, that are just as far reaching. Also the departure, the loss of fallen friend can shake a foundation of mind, body and soul.
This gliding of some divine force, in reverberation between the living and the dead. The lost and the lonely in quest for a place in this world.
Nomadic, on the edge of some sort of
illumination.
These visitations with ghosts and angels, spectral beings inspired me to collect textiles and to also celebrate nature as
a divine place of rest.
Sourcing the right location and historical textiles, always searching the exact shadow or tree branch or sandstone monolith.
All confounding this living breath in a magnificence of place and time.
All the living sentient beings wear fashion or garments as a form of a living
expression.
The shroud represents a final cloth and ending, a simple and less elegant fascinator.
We are all starlight and dust and dirt and storytelling and part of some glorious exhaltation!
And breathing and ceasing, and beginning anew.
These ideologies of immortality and mortality to be found with the camera to emblazon a still image.
Clarified in the beginning as an empirically unfounded belief structure, hence an illusion!
Nebulous and always evanescent,
Illustriously presented as light and form
floating before mortal eyes.
