The large mismatch between the availability and demand for healthy corneas for the millions suffering from corneal blindness, motivated a group of enlightened citizens of Jaipur to join hands to supplement the government efforts in the interest of those needing corneal transplantation. This initiative culminated in formation of EBSR in 2002. The significant feature of this organization has been the shouldering of responsibility by members and housewives who are committed to help the under privileged in the society. The Society was registered in February 2002 under the Rajasthan Cooperative Society’s Act 1958. It has 105 life-members, Donor members and Institutional members.
